1/ SAY NO TO READY-TO-WEAR SUITS, AND SAY YES TO TAILOR-MADE WEDDING SUITS
It’s often said that ready-to-wear is made to fit everyone, and in the end, it doesn’t “fit” anyone perfectly.
First of all, understand that buying a ready-to-wear wedding suit is a very bad idea.
In fact, these suits are very rarely adapted to your morphology and measurements.
If you’re taller, shorter, thinner, more muscular or stronger than average, your suit may not fit properly. And it would be a shame to break your Trousers while lacing up your shoes!
Certain details, such as sleeve length or shoulder width, can completely ruin the elegance of your suit.
Worse, with this kind of suit, you won’t be totally comfortable in your wedding best man outfit.
And given how long the various stages of a wedding last (ceremony at the town hall, photos with the photographer, lunch, cocktail party, dinner, ball…), you’re likely to suffer !

2/ YOUR TAILOR-MADE WEDDING SUIT SHOULD HIGHLIGHT THE GROOM, NOT OVERSHADOW HIM.
You are the groom’s best man. Your role is not to steal the show, but to push him to the fore. It’s her wedding, not yours.
That’s why, when choosing a best man’s suit for your wedding, you have to be careful not to look more chic or totally identical to the groom.
Imagine being mistaken for the groom in wedding photos. It would be rather embarrassing for you and irritating for him…
So before choosing your wedding best man outfit, consult the groom about his tailor-made wedding suit.
You can even advise him on his choice to match the bride’s dress (you’ll need to discuss this beforehand with the future 1st lady, who will have requirements and an opinion on the subject too!).

Differentiate yourself with color
First of all, make sure you don ‘t wear completely the same colors as the groom .

Final tip: never wear a 3-piece suit if the groom chooses a 2-piece suit.

3/ STAND OUT WITH YOUR ACCESSORIES… BUT NOT TOO MANY!
Weddings are usually rather formal affairs.
And unless you’re attending a wedding of Congolese sapeurs or bohemian advertisers who say “Come as you are”, bright colors are often prohibited.
So all men will have roughly the same suit colors (blue, Grey, even brown for the more daring), especially if a dress code is imposed.
But as best man, you may want to stand out from the crowd.

Socks, clutches, suspenders, cufflinks … All these accessories help you stand out from the crowd, so make the most of them. A bit like My Best Friend’s Wedding…
Choose socks with original patterns or colors (while still matching your suit and tie), wear suspenders instead of a belt, adopt original cufflinks… In short, make a difference.
But be careful! Don’t forget that you need to remain formal and elegant.
Don’t turn into a tinsel or a teenager in the throes of an identity crisis. Less is more!
4/ MATCH YOUR TAILOR-MADE WEDDING SUIT TO THAT OF THE OTHER WITNESSES
At the groom’s request or on your own initiative, you can impose a dress code for all wedding witnesses.
This is often a very good idea, to ensure harmony in the photos and during the ceremony.
What’s more, it’s a lot of fun !
The most important thing is to match your tailor-made wedding suit to the other witnesses.
So first, make sure everyone wears the same color suit.
And finally, make sure you all have the same color shoes, tie and bow tie.
Nor do all the witnesses have to be clones of each other.
But you must at least be consistent with each other.

The fifth and final tip for choosing your tailor-made wedding suit as best man is to adapt to the wedding theme.
And this theme will influence everything else they do : the decor, the menu, the dress code, the activities, the venue…
In your case, if the bride and groom have chosen a specific theme, adapt your tailor-made wedding suit to it.
If, for example, the theme of your wedding is love chic, don’t come dressed in country-style Outfits.
