It’s about to be the happiest day of your life and you’re about to go shopping for your suit. There’s just one problem: you’re not sure which suit color to choose, because between magazines, experts and your friends, you don’t really know who to listen to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 CLASSIC COLORS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Usually, we recommend choosing so-called academic colors for a wedding suit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you choose blue or Grey, you’ll be sure <\/strong>to look your best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regardless of skin or hair color, these colors generally suit everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You might not think about it, but these shades bring out the whiteness of the bride’s dress even more. Indeed, as with a Tuxedo suit, for example, having a very sober, neutral suit is a way of taking a back seat to the bride, whose dress is visually more present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can opt for a fairly dark pearl Grey or a not-too-dark Navy blue. A blue-gray wedding suit is also a good alternative.If you’d like to wear a suit with a prince de galle motif or a small stripe, that’s perfectly possible too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, care must be taken not to overdo the motifs. Remember, it’s the bride who comes first!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 FUN COLORS: A COLORFUL WEDDING IS ALSO POSSIBLE!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you want to stand out from the crowd, and the bride-to-be agrees, you can go wild with color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shades of blue often produce beautiful results, from light blue to duck blue. A brown suit is also a good idea, as long as the fabric is not too shiny. Brown linen fabrics are often very beautiful. Like fresco fabrics, which are both breathable and almost wrinkle-free. It’s the fabric for those who want to stay impeccable without a crease!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suits in shades of green can also be a good idea if you’re comfortable with your style and know exactly what you want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In any case, if you’re not sure about the color of your suit, I recommend that you fall back on the classic colors of Navy blue and Grey… and consider one important piece of information…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3 THE COLOR OF THE BRIDE’S DRESS.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is a detail to consider when choosing the color of your wedding suit. Most wedding dresses are white, but this is not always the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Talk to us about this detail during your discovery or measurement appointment, and we’ll help you choose the ideal color, one that won’t clash too much with the color of your wedding dress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, avoid a green suit if the bride’s dress is red. Green and red quickly give off a “Christmas” vibe that doesn’t lend itself at all to the magical, solemn moment of a wedding. Ditto for the pink dress, which won’t go well with a beige suit or other pale colors of this type.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You’ll need to know the color of the dress, however, and that can be a tricky business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s up to you to use every persuasive trick in the book to win back this precious information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4 THE WEDDING TUXEDO TREND<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It’s a trend we’ve seen a lot in wedding photos in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting married in a Tuxedo<\/a> is an original alternative, because it’s not very academic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally, it was an evening suit worn for social events, particularly weddings. However, the Tuxedo should only be worn during the wedding party, at dinnertime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s a very good idea to make a more classic suit like the ones I mentioned above, and to make a second “Tuxedo” suit for the evening<\/strong>. This will give you a chance to change and freshen up before sitting down to dinner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s a real plus when you’re getting married in the summer and it’s very hot. Bear in mind, however, that the Tuxedo is worn with a bow tie, not a tie like the classic suit. You can choose black, Navy blue or white.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All 3 colors are suitable for a wedding party. However, wearing a Tuxedo for the entire wedding day is a little trickier. In church, and even at the town hall, it’s not the most suitable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5 ATTENTION TO BLACK AND WHITE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Black suits are generally reserved for sad, solemn occasions or evenings out. Black is a fairly neutral color. If you’re looking for a dark suit, a very dark Navy blue fabric will do better than black. However, if you want to wear black, do so only during the evening with a black wedding suit or black wedding Tuxedo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A white wedding suit can be a good alternative (Eddie Barclay validates this idea), especially if it’s a seaside wedding or in a suitable location. However, it is not advisable to wear a white suit in town or in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s not a very country color. But getting married with your feet in the water in a white suit, like our friend Kevin, is a real eye-opener!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
